We now offer distance support which can be helpful and effective. However, you understand, results cannot be guaranteed. Support via distance can assist you to better understand yourself, give you insight to address issues you encounter, reduce stress and generally give you a greater sense of direction for you life's journey. Distance support for our clients is offered via the options below:
Distance Support via Skype (Video & Voice)
Skype is an online communication tool allowing for face-to-face video, voice, or text-based chat dialogue.
Generally, Skype-to-Skype calling is encrypted using the same standards utilized by the federal government to protect sensitive information. For best results, download the most recent version of Skype. If you do not have a Skype account, set up an account and inform us of your Skype call username. Your support person will confirm your session via email and provide you with their Skype username once the payment (and informed consent) is received. Your support person will call you via Skype at the scheduled time. Please ensure you are online at least five minutes prior to session start, alone (unless for a couples' session), in a quiet room with the door closed and phone turned off. For best Skype picture and audio quality, ensure a hardwired connection (via LAN cable) rather than a wireless if possible.
Your support person will confirm the appointment via email once the payment (and informed consent) is received. Your support person will telephone you at the number indicated on your completed informed consent at the scheduled appointment time. Please ensure you are near the telephone, alone in a quiet room with the door closed at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time.
Appointment & Payment Setup
How Does It Work?
First, contact our Office at 250-248-0316 for a brief conversation to determine if distance support is right for you. Next set up a tentative appointment. You will then be directed to complete the required Informed Consent for Distance Support and possibly additional online Assessments depending on the Presenting Issue.
Second, pre-payment is required for all distance sessions. This can be done via our PayPal link or E-Transfer.
Cancellation with less than 48-hour notification will be assessed as a full-session fee. If a scheduled appointment is not paid for 48 hours prior to the session, the session will be cancelled.
Please note that distance support is not appropriate if you are:
Presently experiencing physical, sexual, or emotional abuse;
Having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else; or
Actively Addicted to alcohol or drugs (However, support after rehab may be possible).
If you are experiencing any of the above, please speak with your medical doctor or make an appointment to speak face-to-face with a counsellor or other mental health professional.
Below is the link to the Informed Consent for Distance Support. Once you have contacted the office and setup a tentative appointment, you will receive a request to complete and submit the Informed Consent online. Please complete and submit the Informed Consent only after the appointment has been tentatively made. This Informed Consent is part one of your appointment confirmation.
Below is the link to PayPal. Fee for Distance Support is $85.00 per Session - payment is part two of your appointment confirmation. This is to be paid only after the appointment has been tentatively made. Payment can also be made by E-Transfer if you prefer.
